Waxing
During this module you will learn how to carry out consultations, assess hair growth and devise a treatment plan. You will experience waxing all areas of the body and face with warm and hot wax. Also you will learn about the structure of the hair and skin; the hair growth cycle. This will leave you with an extensive knowledge of the art of waxing
The syllabus includes:
- Understand, explain and demonstrate the use of hot wax, cool wax, sugaring, pre/after wax lotions, disposable spatulas, waxing strips and tweezers
- Understand and explain how to treat under arms, back, chest, abdomen, bikini line, Brazilian, Hollywood, leg, lip, chin, forearms and eyebrows.
- Understand and explain how to prepare/protect the working area
- Specific hygiene precautions, communicating with the client tactfully and accurately
- Understand and recognise contra indications
- Understand the composition and ingredients of hot/cool wax
- Demonstrate waxing bikini, forearms, underarms, leg, lip, chin, eyebrow
- Understand, explain and apply wax evenly, sparingly and cost effectiveness
- Removal of product, safe disposal of product
- Client after care and accurate client record keeping
- Understand and explain functions of the skin, structure of the hair
- Formulations of acid mantle
- Understand and explain the endocrine system and the effect of hormones on the hair growth
5 case studies are required, including one treatment per client on the following range of areas; Full leg, Bikini Line, Underarm, Forearm, Lip and Chin
You will have a theory and practical exam for this module which is assessed by the tutor and verified by the ITEC examiner
Waxing kit costs £80 this includes wax heater

Waxing £560 course + £130 exam fee + £80 kit + £20 book = £790
£30 discount if all course fees paid in full before the course commences (£760) or interest free instalments available
On top of the fees you will have to provide your own uniform of black trousers, black tunic and flat black shoes. All details can be given on request
Interest Free Instalments
Pay the deposit of £100 and the rest in instalments-total must be paid before last exam date
For example:
Waxing £790
Deposit- 1st instalment: £100
2nd instalment due 2 weeks before course commences £100
3rd instalment due on first day £100
The remainder (£490) can be paid in 3 monthly instalments of £163.33 by standing order, cheque or cash on the 5th day of each month. Please note late payments will incur a £10 charge
